Chapel Allerton Parish is located in Somerset on the Isle of Wedmore. It includes Chapel Allerton and Stone Allerton villages and the hamlet of Ashton. The Parish is predominantly rural and non-industrial. We have five parish councillors whose details are listed under contacts and Parish Council meetings take place in the Old School Room, Stone Allerton.
Sedgemoor District Council’s Core Strategy currently classifies our entire Parish as Tier 5 – open countryside – which is unsuitable for any development other than that which is connected with farm businesses and barn conversions.
Some farmland is below sea level – part of the Somerset levels. This part of the Parish has a drainage system which is administered by the Axe Brue Drainage Board.
